Hospital Site Development: Mercy Health

This achievement was made possible through a groundbreaking partnership with Danis Construction. Spanning an impressive 172,500 square feet, the new Mercy Health Hospital stands tall as a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence. With a four-story main building and a two-story medical office, this facility represents the future of healthcare in the Cincinnati area. 

Valued at $200 million, the completion of this project not only reaffirms our dedication to delivering high-quality construction services but also highlights our ability to work seamlessly with partners like Danis. 

In this article, we will give you a glimpse of how we were able to successfully complete this massive project.  

Project Details 

The Mercy Health Hospital sits on a 30-acre site that was previously the grounds of the National College Football Hall of Fame.  

Before construction could begin, several pre-construction tasks were carried out. Mass earthwork was needed to prepare the site for the upcoming construction work. This involved moving and compacting large quantities of soil and shaping the land to match the desired specifications. 

Another pre-construction task was the installation of the underground utilities. This involved laying the necessary infrastructure for water, plumbing, electricity, and telecommunications services. This process was essential since these utilities keep the hospital functioning. Careful planning and coordination took place to install these utilities correctly and safely.  

Once the underground utilities were in place, fine grading was carried out. Precision leveling and smoothing of the land ensures that the site is prepared for the next phases of construction. It was important to achieve an even surface to provide a stable foundation for the hospital's infrastructure. 

One unique aspect of the project was the complex task of navigating supply chain issues. Due to various factors, there were longer lead times for materials and equipment. This required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure that the necessary resources were available when needed, minimizing any potential delays in the construction process. 

Access roads, parking lots, and driveways were also constructed to provide convenient transportation and ensure the smooth flow of traffic within the hospital premises. 

Project closeout involved final inspections, documentation, and ensuring that all necessary permits and certifications were obtained. It marked the end of the construction phase and the beginning of the operational phase for the Mercy Health Hospital. 

Overall, we were able to overcome challenges and complete the project successfully, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our workers!
